At a youth training session in Oudtshoorn, with kids and world champions
During our stay in South Africa we had the chance to see how young athletes train in Oudtshoorn. The invitation came from Lukas Lubbe, and it turned out to be one of the most inspiring afternoons of the whole trip.
Pullers from the Dutch national team visited the local juniors that day too, so we got to pull with the kids and with multiple world champions on the same field.
It has practical value for us as well. Back in Rakovník we are starting a youth squad, and seeing how youth training works in a country with a long tug of war tradition is exactly the kind of experience we want to bring home.
Thank you to Lukas Lubbe for the invitation. It was an afternoon full of positive energy.
